Xiamen Airlines yields brilliant results through 40 years of efforts and aims to embrace higher goals in the future. On July 25, the 40th-anniversary conference of Xiamen Airlines’ establishment was held in Xiamen, marking the summary of Xiamen Airlines’ 40-year glorious history and outlining a new blueprint for future development.

Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, read out an important reply from General Secretary Xi Jinping and delivered a speech at the conference. Cui Yonghui, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, presided over the conference. Provincial leaders Wu Xielin, Lin Wenbin, and Huang Wenhui, Vice President of Xinhua News Agency Zhu Haili, and Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Xu Yao attended. Han Jun, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Ma Xulun, Chairman of China Southern Airlines Group, and other guest representatives delivered speeches at the conference. Zhao Dong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Xiamen Airlines, and Xie Bing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager, attended the conference.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Xiamen Airlines’ establishment, General Secretary Xi Jinping wrote back to all employees of Xiamen Airlines, expressing warm congratulations and earnest hopes. Zhou Zuyi stressed, “In his important reply, General Secretary Xi Jinping fully affirms the achievements made by us over the past 40 years since our establishment, and places sincere hopes on our reform and development in the new era and new journey. His reply is brimming with deep affection and care, shows his broad and far views, and guides a direction for our development, fully reflecting the consistent care and support for us, Xiamen, and Fujian and deeply inspiring and rousing us.”

Generations of Xiamen Airlines employees have firmly followed the direction of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s guidance, forged ahead with courage and determination, and continued to lift the company from “a fledgling” to “a soaring egret”, achieving leapfrog development. Standing at a new starting point, we must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply, comprehensively implement the decisions and deployments of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, solidly promote our high-quality development, and make the ‘Egret’ fly faster, higher, and farther.”

On the day before the conference, Xiamen Airlines staff held a series of anniversary celebrations at the Eight Diagrams Mansion on Gulangyu Island. At the scene, Xiamen Airlines’ new song was sung for the first time.

Xiamen Airlines released its first Social Responsibility White Paper and worked with the United Nations Global Compact in five actions to “accelerate sustainable transformation towards a better future”.

The egret soars high and stably all the way. When Xiamen Airlines’ 800 drones took off to perform, the night sky of Egret Island shone brightly, marking a successful end of the celebrations.
